Cleaning out parents space? Downsizing? Looks like a big job just take it a box at a time. Figure out what you want to keep and donate the rest. Find a consignment shop in your area if you are in New Hampshire then our shop is the best. You can donate what you don't want and consign what you want for yourself in the shop.
An elderly couple came in the other day they are moving back to California in April after just being here since August. The task of moving again was daunting. They did not know where to begin. So I said open up an account and just start bringing it in a box or two at a time.
So it began they are coming in twice a week with what they can carry themselves. They are making lists of the items and just dropping them off. It helps them feel better about the move. Less stress since it is just a couple of boxes at a time and they are getting stuff out of the house. The wife has a bit of dementia so this is helping her slowly getting rid of stuff.
Another couple is downsizing in the spring and they have come in and now know what to do with what they do not want. They are going to bring it here and donate it to their favorite charity.
So don't order the dumpster just yet. You would be surprised what sells. As the saying goes one man's junk is another man's treasure.
